Contary to my sig at a 6600 today from santa! but i am not allowed to touch it until the 25th of course. stupid gifts. i did however charge it and turned it on to check registration was okay and everything.
i did notice however, that there was no vodafone branding apart from the operator logo. i'll admit that i obviously didn't have a chance to play with it, but i read that on vodafone there is a customised start-up screen on their branded 6600s?
anyone else got a 6600 on vodafone that they found unbranded (and was it unlocked automatically?)

Yer i got a vodafone 6600 for me b'day just last friday.
I get the startup screen you mention, but if you haven't heres how to get it (well it works for me anyway)

All you have to do is restore the factory defaults (bear in mind this will delete your settings if you've made any).

This option is in Tools -> Settings -> Phone -> General
Near the bottom of the menu.

When you say "was it unlocked automatically" i presume you mean does it register straight away. To get it to register you have to leave your phone switched off (i didnt understand this either but thats what the carphonewarehouse guy sed to me) took my phone about 2 hours to register.

i get the "nokia hand shaking" animation (which looks pretty pimpin!) and it just connects to the vodafone network no problemo, the phone was left off and charging for i dunno how long, couple of hours at the very least, it is just different from Orange, where they sent me sim updates and what have you, but then the phone was actually turned on for the whole of 2 minutes while i tested that it worked fine.

and by unlocked i mean "not locked to vodafone sim cards only" kind of unlocked. i will have to test that one tomorrow i guess with my o2 card just to see what happens, my vodafone tariff is better anyway now ^_^
