If so can you tell me how. I save them on my memory card but then I can't use them .

go to -Recorder-Options-Settings- Memory in use and choose memory card.

I've done that but the songs are still on my phone memory and I'm all out of space there

Go to http://www.gosymbian.com and get EFileman and then copy files you have in C:\Nokia\Sounds\Digital to the MMC (create corresponding directory/folder three there).

or restart your phone after the setting is done!! worked for me
