Yes or No?

Jadeviper
01-10-2003, 03:04 PM
No - Basically it means traversing the same bit of track as the result of two (or more) moves by the same player travelling in the same direction without an intervening double or shuffle.

Am I making sense?

LAuRA
01-10-2003, 03:14 PM
Probably, but I have no clue what Mornington Crescent is.

Are we talking about a card game?

LAuRA
01-10-2003, 03:31 PM
no,

wanna tell me? :D

Jadeviper
01-10-2003, 03:45 PM
yes. it's a verbal game played using the London Underground. the object is to get to Mornington Crescent before your opponent(s) do(es).

Sound like fun? (Ewan plays it...)

rb14
01-10-2003, 09:29 PM
No.

Mostly because it is not a game about London Underground. Oooooh, the cheek! Willie would be turning in his grave.

The answer lies in the Radio 4 programme; "I'm sorry I haven't a clue". Without wishing to go into too great detail, this prog was at times hysterically funny with one Humphrey Lyttleton in the chair. Mornington Crescent (and I'll probably get lynched for this)

[This paragraph has been lynched by the "Friends of Mrs Trellis" association of retired MC players - Ewan_FreEPOC]

became funnier with each playing. Countless websites are devoted to it. The world is a sadder place without "I'm sorry I haven't a clue."

Am I the only person in this forum who listens to Radio 4?

Jadeviper
02-10-2003, 10:15 AM
no and I would completely challenge your description of Mornington Crescent ;) I don't listen to I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue as much since Willie died, but we do have several of the BBC tapes, including Everyman's Guide to Mornington Crescent and an edition recorded at the Edinburgh Festival where they played the Edinburgh version - Morningside Crescent.

Do you think anyone else cares about this? :p

rb14
02-10-2003, 03:35 PM
No. But we can sit smugly knowing that we heard some of the funniest stuff on radio. I just love Samantha and her laser display board. As for Sven.....! Humphrey really is so terribly funny. One of his many gems; "The experts' expert on Give Us A Clue, was Lionel Blair. Who can ever forget opposing team captain Una Stubbs sitting open mouthed as he tried to pull off Twelve Angry Men in under two minutes! "

Perhaps you're right though...

Is Baileys better than Tia?

rb14

There's something a little bit scary about Rafe?

Jadeviper
26-10-2003, 08:48 PM
no, Rafe's just wee and cute. there is something rather sinister about Jordan (Jizzo) though... he unfortunately can't make the Series 60 Awards that Rafe and Ewan are heading off to in the south of France tomorrow (and Tuesday fro Rafe) and while that's a shame, I have to admit I feel a little better about Ewan's safety. I get the impression that Jordan may well do very odd things in his sleep... there's a picture in the Gallery of him at the first Dover Castle meet doing something rude to a wooden figure...

Do you trust conventional medicine?
