According to Nokia there are no production models available and they are still in the testing phase of the phone. There are some listed on ebay and PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THEM AS THEY ARE NOT ORIGINAL!!! There are prototypes out there but having a prototype will be completely useless.

You don't have to be very sharp to understand that it's a fake ad. Altough it's there. They'll then say that the product is a little delayed, or something like that.

I think that everybody can distinguish between serious and non-serious e-commerce, and advertising something for the double of its probable price, almost 5 months before its release, isn't serious at all.

But hey... we're all free to believe in what we want, so...

I think it`s fake. Same happened with Nokia 6800. They announce availability after Nokia anounce it!!!

I have a better price and they have it...

The Nokia 6600 hasn't been shipped by Nokia yet. Any phones out there
are prototypes so be warned ! They might not even be compatible with
the actual released phone (firmware-wise) due to hardware changes.

These are two completely different phones. You need a nice cellular phone or a SMART phone. Need to make up your mind before you decide between the 6220 and the 6600. This is not a review based choice but rather a need/want based choice between the two models.

They maybe got some for testing and they're selling them or something like that.Anyway, I won't buy it untill I see it in my local store, then I'll test myself.

It keeps crashing too

Here are some pix - I can't really do a review as it crashes so often and a lot of applications do not work.

Nice phone thou - the camera is working so I'll get some images taken with it posted up soon.

An untouched picture compairing the 3650 & 6600 camera.

Barrel roll is better - little sharper - soft focus at the edges still - colours not as saturated.

Heres some more picture - I think I prefer the 3650, lets hope nokia are still tinkering with the camera!!

If the firmware can be flashed when the 'real' phone is release and the OS is stable then we shall keep it.
Not worth having a prototype phone for development purposes if we can not run anything on it!
It does not appear to have a bluetooth serial profile either which is a real pain as we cannot put software on it easily!

Just waiting for http://www.nowicom.de to call back to confirm weather we can flash the firmware or not....

will, if possible post some menu pics, with the new features. I'm just disappointed because 3650 pics are much better. And my 7650 take better pictures than my friend's 3650, so I'm a bit disapointed in that matter....

The answer is almost certainly not due to hardware changes.
I recommend sending it back and waiting a few months(if you can!).
Alternatively you could always put it on EBay :)

I agree, it's not officially for sale yet !! Obviously Nokia does not control
the distribution of prototypes well enough yet. The reason for keeping a
tight control in the first place is to prevent bad publicity such as :

Some firmware revisions are for testing specific functions which
may explain the lack of BT serial profile and other misbehaviours.
How old is the firmware in your 6600 ?

Yah that is wierd cause there is a local guy in my area that has a 6600 and saposidly he has no problems and everything works like a charm.

Heck, those pics are VERY dissapointing! I thought Nokia had done some R+D with the 'doublet lens' to improve it!

Unless the release version has significantly better image quality there's no way I would buy this phone.

Hopefully the SX1 camera will be better (doubt it tho...)

Please remember this is a pre-release model and hence you can't draw any conclusions on things like picture quality or the reliability of the device. The finished device could be completely different.

hey will congratulations on your 6600 purchase BTW can you tell us about the weight of the phone is it light compared to the other smartphone category and is the size satisfactory??I dont know whether to get the 6600 or the SX1????What do you think??

For all it's software faults - the actual phone is VERY nice.

Much more robust feel to it than the 3650. More solid and not such a 'toy' feel to it.
Weighted nicely and fits nicely and naturally in the hand without your fingers creeping over the cam lens.
Not sure how much it weighs but feels much lighter than the 36/7650.

I did not like the joystick as it was too stiff and made the phone a pain to navigate and gave me a small sore blister on my thumb! But I guess thats what prototypes are for and Nokia will adress this by putting in a softer spring.

The pix were dissapointing - but again Nokia should address this - looking at those pix it simply looks like nokia are yet to add any extra processing to the raw image the cam takes as it looks like the white balance has not even been added - let alone any sharpening as nokia appears to do with the 3650 pix, so I expect the images will end up BETTER then the 3650.

Anyways - I've sent the phone back as it is too unstable to use even as a development phone - it is at the present time unable to run ANY java apps or 3rd party sysmbian apps plus there does not appeaer to be any video engine on it yet, so no good for what I wanted to test on it.
Not even midi sound files would play apart from the standard monophonic ones :( No poly sounds built in :(

But I will be the first to purchase this phone when it's released!

Not such a big leap if you have a 3650 and are happy with it - but for 7650 owners not yet gone to the 3650, wait for this!! :)
