Hi... sorry for this probably lame question but I am a new Symbian OS user. I have Nokia 7650 and ... a problem :)

I copied some MIDI ringtones to my device assigned them to some contacts in my contacts list, but the phone still rings the default ring (present in the profiles) instead of the chosen ring.

But when I assign MIDI file which is already in the phone (in ROM I suppose) it works fine ... plays the chosen file...

What is wrong?

you need to create a group mate.
once you create a group add your contact to the group. next select a ringtone for that group. you can create any amount of groups you like.

It's not that.

I CAN assing a ring tone even to one contact ... but it does not play it ... when it is MIDI which I copied to the phone. When it is some other ring tone it works fine ...

Have you saved them?

When they are in Inbox open the Midi file(s) and select save so that are saved to Sounds folder.

If they are still in the Inbox the phone may not be able to find them.
