For the traditional PDA user synchronization was essential. Most PALM users almost solely use their device for this reason. I was wondering if this was also true for us smartphone users? I know its not true for me and hardly anyone I know outside of work uses a desktop PIM anyway.

I suspect 7650 users will be less likely to sync then 92XX users but there are probably to few of them currently to give a good sample.

What's the point in synchronising? You;ve got your diary and address with you all the time in a smartphone.

Now backing up... that's a different story. Done about once a week, and copied into the emulator if I need to reference it at any time.

I find syncing the contacts is handy. New contacts go straight into the 9210 but when I use Lotus Notes, I find it helps to have them there as well..... just as long as I sync them back because it doesn't preserve categories and I get everything dumped into the main contacts database

i treat my 9210 as a primary device and the PC or notebook as a backup. so no syncing done. :o
