Guys which is the software version you have and which country are you from ?

I have v3.12 which is the retail version (at least here in Finland).

I have v3.12, I believe all 7650's over there have the same release, for now.

There has been some software upgrades needed for O2. So the software version will be different.
I'v been told that it will be released within 2 weeks.

*#0000# gives the software version. Can't test it. My 7650 has lasted 9 days - now it is down..

Mine is on O2, and its still version 3.12 (got it just over a week ago)

You can buy a nokia 7650 on O2 now, but these are not approved by O2 themselfs. While approving the phone O2 came accross a software fualt meaning they are updating the software.

Untill this is done all decent retailers will not sell the phone.

I just got me a 7650 and it's 3.12

It's my second because the first one had a nasty fault on the keyboard where the third row was just a functional repetition of the second! I wasn't happy, but the wee shop was good on getting me another device.

IN the UK the lastest is 3.12 as soon as a new one comes out I will let you lot know. :D (and it you are lucky I will tell you what been added and taken out of the new version)

I think I'll make a little trip back to the shop to find out what their story is!

The N7650 finally came out on O2 today after they had upgraded the software. I don't get mine until saturday. But when I do I'll let you all know the software version on it.

I'm willing to bet that the O2 handset you get on Saturday will be the same software version as everyone else's. O2 don't actually exersize any control over the handsets they sell, they come direct from the manufacturer. Only Orange & T-Mobile test, rebadge, and re-package their handsets before releasing them (Hence the network locking).

All the phones that I have had on O2 have been network locked, so O2 must have some control.

o2 Pre-pay handsets are locked and bundled with sim cards, their contract stock usually isn't.

Maybe there is one service provider who does then? O2 LTD. & O2 UK (Carphone Warehouse owned) don't. I don't know of any other O2 opps. in the UK though.

mine also 3.12 dated 18/6. I guess that's the only firmware version available now. Really looking forward for new release that can support chinese/bluetooth voice profile.

As I am on Orange I guess this must be the Orange update I was reading about.

So the thing is, for those of us on Orange but didn't get the handset with Orange - how do we go about getting upgraded to this software version? Is that even possible? Because what I'm hearing from them is that we can't use their MMS until we have the new software version.

Any ideas?

The v. 3.16 upgrade is available to anyone that has v. 3.12 - free - just go to any Nokia Service Point and they'll do it.

However, for those on Orange, this apparently will not solve the incompatibility issues of offline handsets.... (which is evidently to do with unregistered IMEI numbers not being recognised by the network/for MMS)

Anything new in 3.16??

To be honest i don't know. I was given the handset by a mobile communications company employee :)
The only issue i have is that i can't change to line2, does anyone know how to enable this feature on the 7650?

On my old 6210 i could use logomanager to do this....

I had mine for 1 day... :cry:

Without any reason, the menus didn't disapear and I turned off the phone.
When I turned on again it didn't boot up anymore. It shows "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer".
Here goes another one......
