Searches on the forum were 'inconclusive', so apologies and point me in the right direction if it's been asked but,

Can you set the small 1kb 'profile pics' as a sort of caller id, so when you recieve a call you get the person's name, number and small pic next to it?
I'm sure it can be done, can anyone enlighten me?

what???? if i understand correctly what you are asking, your phone should already do that...

That's what i thought, my mates does it, but mine won't. I'm running 3.16, but this shouldn't make a difference should it?

Nope, I was earlier on 3.16 and it worked then.

I don't do manuals, i just play around until I 1) have the answer or 2) make the phone explode. :)

I have the solution now by the way. I took the picture, set it in 'contacts', then renamed it in 'images'...but renaming it unassigns it from the contact :oops: Note2self: rename then set. :roll:

hmmm. you can delete those after assigning... but cant rename? strange.

If you rename the image it will unassign itself from the contact. But if you then change the name back it will assign itself back again. Weird.

Hi all,

My fw is 3.16 and i can assign pictures to my contacts and then delete the picture from the phone. The picture then is showen when i receive a call. I think that suppose that the picture is saved in contacts database once assigned.

are you adding thumbnails or adding pictures when you're in the contact list ? if you add pictures, it simply adds a picure to the section you can see when you press right (im not really sure of the reason for this, but it is normal size so i guess its for that) but it wont display when the fone is rang. if you add a thumbnail , it'll appear when the fone rings.

and no, the manual doesn't mention this :) (not my orange manual anyway, cos i was confused at first too :) )

I checked the nokia online manual (very useful pdf!) and managed to sort it eventually with your help above. Great feature of the 7650 in my opinion. Those little images just over 1kb each! Great stuff! More difficult to get my mates to pose for photos though! :)
